		With Jersey being promoted this season and Guernsey narrowly missing out, both teams are looking forward to the annual fixture. Jersey probably start as favourites on the basis they are currently two leagues above the hosts but they have been there before and lost. One thing for sure, it is going to be another entertaining day out with a big crowd expected. Don’t miss out on what promises to be an excellent afternoon of rugby at Footes Lane Kick off is scheduled for 3:00pm

Guernsey Rugby Union Football Club was founded in January 1928. Although there are records of rugby union being played in the island as far back as the nineteenth century. The game gave way to soccer until the Guernsey Rugby Club was formed. Initially the club only ran one side and had a membership of twenty to thirty people. The club now runs three senior sides, a youth team and a very active mini’s section.

The first team has competed in the English national leagues since 1987. They were recently promoted to London South West Division 2 and are looking forward to the new challenges this will bring
